It took six months, but two new S-4885U Riso ink cylinders finally arrived on Friday, signifying the completion of my initial plan for a well-rounded color spectrum for the Riso. Their arrival also meant I could print a complete set of swatches and color charts to test-drive those choices. Needless to say, I’m extremely pleased with the results which were above even what I expected.
The next major items to check off are printing charts that can be used to create custom color separation profiles and further stochastic halftone tests. Oh, and I’m going to give Rocinante a custom paint job which should be fun too.
